URAIS carries out research activity in the field of environmental radiochemistry, with special emphasis on the determination of radionuclides in environmental samples and on the development and optimization of analytical methodologies for their determination at low levels of activity.
The lines of research include the study of the presence and behavior of natural and artificial radionuclides in different matrices, as well as the development of analytical procedures applied to the radiological control of drinking water and other environmental samples.
This activity is complemented by participation in research projects and collaboration with other centers and institutions, contributing to the generation of knowledge in the field of environmental radioactivity control.
