URAIS aims to develop and apply tests in the field of environmental radioactivity, through a specialized team that also contributes to research and training in this field.
The main objectives of the laboratory are:
- To develop and apply analytical procedures for environmental radiological control, aimed at determining the radioactive content in different types of samples, such as drinking water, soil and food.
- To guarantee a high level of quality in the services provided, through the maintenance of accreditations and external control systems that ensure the reliability of the results.
