URAIS's main activity is the provision of analytical services for the determination of radiochemical parameters in environmental samples, especially in drinking water, within the framework of current regulations on radiological quality of water intended for human consumption, in accordance with Royal Decrees 3/2023 and 314/2016.
The laboratory has qualified personnel and the necessary instrumentation for the determination of the radiological parameters established by the regulations, as well as for the specific analysis of radionuclides of natural and artificial origin at low levels of activity in different types of samples, such as water, soil and food.
In addition to analytical services, URAIS offers training activities and technical advisory services in the field of environmental radioactivity.
